Ulinco rubber dampers eliminate structure-borne noise in property
Ulinco works with rubber products for industry. Since a couple of years we have a growing demand for solutions related to ventilation, heating systems and similar applications.
The problem
HVAC equipment, especially fans, compressors and pumps are dominant noise sources in a building. It is therefore important that the equipment is installed in such a way that noise and vibrations from the equipment are not disturbing to occupied spaces or neighbours.
Vibrations from equipment can give rise to structure-borne noise that propagates through the building. These vibrations can cause walls, floors and other installations, such as pipework, to vibrate, thereby generating airborne noise that can disturb other spaces far from the equipment room.
Solution
New installation with suitable rubber dampers and suspensions avoids problems and ensures quiet installations from the start. Below is an example where standard rubber dampers were used to create a quiet installation.
