FPM - Fibre rubber

Fluorocarbon rubber (FPM), also known as fluorocarbon rubber or FKM, is a synthetic elastomer characterised by its excellent chemical resistance to oils, fuels, acids and high temperatures. The material is known for its low gas permeability and good mechanical properties even at high temperatures.

However, FPM has some limitations in terms of cold resistance and the cost may be higher compared to some other elastomers on the market.

Flourescent rubber is mainly used in the automotive industry for seals, gaskets and hoses in engines and transmission applications where high chemical and temperature resistance are critical.

It is also used in the aerospace industry, as well as in industries where resistance to aggressive chemicals and extremely variable temperatures is necessary.
