SBR - Styrene rubber

Styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) is a synthetically produced elastomer used in a wide range of applications due to its versatility and cost-effectiveness. It is characterised by its good wear resistance, flexibility and resistance to water and ageing.

However, SBR has limited resistance to oils, solvents and UV radiation, which can negatively affect its long-term performance.

SBR is mainly used in the tyre industry to improve grip and wear resistance. It is also used in the manufacture of rubber products such as flooring, gaskets, and sports surfaces where its properties of durability and resistance are valuable.
