HNBR - Hydrogenated Nitrile Rubber
Hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) is a synthetic elastomer produced by hydrogenating (adding hydrogen) nitrile rubber. The material is characterised by excellent chemical resistance to oils, fuels and high temperatures.
HNBR also has improved mechanical strength and wear resistance compared to regular nitrile rubber. Despite its advantages, HNBR has some limitations in terms of resistance to ozone and weather exposure, which can affect its long-term performance in outdoor environments.
HNBR is mainly used in the automotive industry for seals, gaskets and hoses in engines and transmission applications where high chemical and thermal resistance is required. It is also used in the oil and gas industry and in industrial applications where reliable performance under extreme conditions is essential.
