NBR - Nitrile rubber

Nitrile rubber (NBR) is a synthetic elastomer characterised by its excellent oil resistance and resistance to chemicals. The material is particularly known for its good mechanical strength and flexibility even at low temperatures.

However, NBR has some limitations in terms of resistance to ozone and UV radiation, which may limit its use outdoors or in environments with high UV levels.

Nitrile rubber is widely used in industry for the manufacture of gaskets, seals, hoses and gloves where oil and chemical resistance is essential. It is also used in the automotive industry for fuel systems and in medical applications for disposable gloves.
